Storyline

Have not yet met a sequel that is better than the first one.Taken 1 was thee best. Taken 2 was

great Taken 3 is OK-ish.Why? because there is not same sense of urgency .In previous movies

Liam tried to prevent a murder or death here he tries to find the killer and clear himself. That's

the big difference, and it has a huge impact on how one perceives the movie. Yes, a lot of action is there . A! LOT! Well done and well balanced.I hope there will be a Taken 4 that will put

a final end to the series. Not because I do not like them, but, Liam is not getting younger.To 

cast Forest Whitaker in the as the police inspector was genius.Forest Whitaker is great 

( in everything he does).So lets go for Taken 4??? Yes.

Storyline

This new version of the saga of CIA analyst Jack Ryan begins as Jack attends the London School of 
Economics. 9/11 happens. He subsequently enlists in the Marines, sustaining severe injuries when the
 chopper deploying him to Afghanistan is shot down. While in intense rehab, he grabs the attention of
 Harper, a man who works for the CIA and who would like Jack to finish his studies, get a job on Wall 
Street, and seek out terrorist plots through their financial transactions. Ten years pass. Jack finds 
anomalies in the accounts of a Russian named Cherevin and thinks he should go to Russia to check out
 what's going on. He's told not to tell anyone who he is, including his girlfriend Cathy, which makes 
her doubt him when she catches him in some lies. In Russia, Cherevin assigns someone to assist Jack,
 but when the two are alone, the man tries to kill Jack instead, so Jack kills him. Obviously, Cherevin 
is hiding something. Jack goes to meet him and says he'll bring his fiancée along, but ...

This Jack Ryan was more involved in events rather by choice as oppose accidents. Compared to the 
Ryan of Ford and Affleck this Ryan was more equipped for fighting than using his brains. The acting
 was good, the interaction between characters was very good, the fight scenes and SFX were up to
 standard. Russians, Chinese, and North Koreans are your most popular bad guys these days and 
whats happened to the Crimea adds some weight to the story line. Ryan is known for his cerebral
 power outsmarting his opponent or identifying solutions to problems. The movie was entertaining with
 lots of good fight scenes and technology but you could easily call be titled Mission Impossible or male
 version of SALT.

Action, drama, humor, Denzel can due it all. Based on the TV show, Denzel Washington is yet another old man, similar to Pierce Bronson in the November Man, trying to prove he's still got it by playing a mysterious dude who works at a Megamart who decides to help a young hooker who got beat up pretty badly and ends up taking down some major hitters in the Russian Mafia, then becomes a target for the main boss.

The movie had a quiet tone similar to Denzel and Director Antoine Fuqua's last flick, Training Day, but Denzel's performance in this is far more Oscar worthy. Denzel still brings passion to movies in an age were other actors like him are phoning it in just for the pay check, and basically that's what makes the movie. Watching Denzel on screen.

In all fairness, The Equalizer's main antagonist, A man the mob sends to take care of their problems, was no slouch either. It was so entertaining watching these two hunt each other down.

Possibly the worse part of the movie was there was not enough Chloë Grace Moretz whose role in the movie is no more than a gloried cameo.

Overall Mr. Fuqua directed the great Denzel in another amazing role.

Read a review claiming Dragon Blade achieved "so bad it's good" status. Wow, did it ever! Imagine 

if Sharknado (the dethroned champion of "so bad it's good) had a $65 million budget. This movie had

 a lot of good going for it. Jackie Chan is an amazing action star, made famous by his "stunt fighting" 

which he excels at in this movie. The production value was really top notch - sets, costumes,  

cinematography, special effects, all of it was quite impressive. Where this movie fails on every level

 is the writing and the acting. I could go into great detail but I think the best comparison is the

 cheesy,campy entertainment that is the SyFy original movie. Adrien Brody and John Cusack must

 have signed onto this movie like all the A-list celebrities back in the 80s making Japanese 

commercials for a quick buck, certain that no one in America would ever see them.

Storyline

I'm not sure how to start this review so I'll just get right into it: This movie isn't good. It makes no sense. There is no room to get immersed in this world because there is no story to relate to. It's all just stuff happening; fluff. Beautiful, well made fluff mind you, but at its core this movie is a steaming hot mess.

Here's the plot from what I gathered: Mila Kunis is suddenly the majesty of the Earth and has to protect it from a bunch of rich douchebags that live in Jupiter's atmosphere who want to use it for harvesting grounds or something. It's a dumb plot, and every scene that tries to move the plot forward is a scene wasted. The only interesting parts of this movie are the visuals and Channing Tatum's character, but even he is given absolutely no character development. He's just a badass space agent, or something. I don't even remember.

The characters end up the same way they began - there was no journey to redemption or revelation for anyone. It was just do this, do that, stop this, go home, the end. And they try to include multiple stories, like Mila Kunis' relationship with her family (boooring); Caine (Tatum) and Stinger's (Sean Bean) history (wholly underdeveloped), the whole villain arc...

The villains in this movie are spoiled brats. Seriously. They're not scary, they're not intimidating, there was no point in the movie where I was like "oh man sh*t is about to go down"; there was just no intrigue. Their motives were all over the place. It's not worth trying to piece together every plot point they throw into the movie because it will just lead to confusion and disappointment, and eventually frustration when you realize how much potential was wasted in creating this massive universe. The lizards looked really cool. Why not have more of them? Oh we're just going to focus on the playboy brat now, okay.

I really wanted to care about this universe. It has a Star Wars vibe in parts, like the "royal" wedding scene and the space battles, but there were no good characters to experience this adventure with. You're just watching things happen with no consequences, or at least none you cared about.

The acting was fine in this movie. Channing Tatum and Sean Bean in particular gave great performances, and Eddie Redmayne as the primary antagonist was decent as well. Yeah, he's an Academy Award winner, and as much as I hate to say it I have not seen The Theory of Everything yet but I loved him in Les Mis so I was really hoping he would save this movie. Unfortunately the material he's given is absolute garbage, so in an effort to make the character stand out, Redmayne give him a weird, eerie, whisper voice that was akin to a hundred year old man trying to force words out from the back of his throat. But hey, I think it worked. The guy is completely unlikeable so might as well give him a unique trait to remember him by. Good on Mr. Redmayne because he succeeded. The only things I will remember about this movie are the cool visuals, the wasted potential, and his creepy voice.

Don't see this movie. Unless you want to see some really great CGI for a couple hours, which can be found in much better places by the way, you won't find anything worth salvaging from Jupiter Ascending. It was a nice effort but ultimately a swing and a miss.

visceral drug trade thriller pulls no punches in its grim depiction of the cross-border traffic between Mexico and the States.

This time french-Canadian director Denis Villeneuve who gave the viewers a kidnap drama suspense hit international movie "prisoners". Now coming back to screen with a action crime flick.

Emily Blunt takes the role of Kate Macer, an FBI field agent plunged in the powerful world of a drugs cartel as well as she trying to make her way to get a better rank for herself. She delineates perfectly the emotional conflicts of a woman working with violence and corruption on a daily basis.

*picks from trailer* The opening sequence in which rows of rotting corpses are found in a home in Arizona belonging to the cartel sets the tone for the helter skelter ride to follow in which Villeneuve sustains the knife-edge tension without a blip.

Nobody is who they seem to be, least of all Josh Brolin who suggests that he may be a defence contractor although Kate and her partner (Daniel Kaluuya) believes he may be from the CIA.

Also emerging from the shadows is Benicio Del Toro as Alejandro, an enigmatic figure who is the sicario of the title - in other words a hit-man whom you never where he is going to turn up next or on whose side he will be.

Although the violence is wince-inducing it is never gratuitous in the context of this particular world, where human beings are completely dispensable.it's basically a great action thriller movie. A must see

I went in to see this film with zero knowledge and zero expectations - I don't even think I saw the trailer. I laughed the entire time!

The movie plays out as a parody of James Bond films and even pokes fun at the Jason Statham breakneck action type of movies, featuring Melissa McCarthy in one of her best roles yet. As far as I can remember, this is Melissa's first role in which she does not play the "gross, clumsy, fat chick" but instead portrays a fiercely intelligent, tough, 3 dimensional woman who ends up in ridiculous situations, and ends up being incredibly skilled at fighting off gangsters. Sure - it may be unrealistic, but it makes for a great, interesting comedy. Susan (Melissa's character) is a relatable middle- aged woman, who is feminine, takes good care of herself, longs for unattainable love, has a close girl friend who has her back, and works her ass off. You root for her, you laugh at her shockingly good insults and come-backs, and you understand her motives for her actions. 

Some of the characters seem to be poking fun at their "stereotype" in other movies of their career. Jason Statham, like I mentioned before, is mostly cast in high-speed, intense action films - and in SPY, his character goes above and beyond this. Ford (Statham's character) believes himself to be so intense and invincible that all the other characters roll their eyes at him and basically tells him to "just calm the eff down". He ends up getting in the way and causing more problems than actually doing any good. A fact that I personally loved to see play out.

Storyline

I have no difficulty believing that Turbo Kid won an Audience Award at the 2015 South by Southwest (SXSW) festival, and several awards or nominations at other film festivals. It's 95 minutes of outrageous gore and belly laughs. Yes, I meant that. Whoever had the fake blood concession undoubtedly made a hefty profit supplying dozens of gallons of the red stuff, and I laughed myself silly at the number of gruesome ways the expendable characters died. But it was all in fun - the mayhem and violence was not too over-the-top explicit (okay, there was the scene with the guy's guts being ripped out by a bicycle), and I had the feeling the actors were having fun with it.

Turbo Kid has a post-apocalyptic setting strongly reminiscent of Mad Max. The world as we know it has been devastated, and the water has become so polluted that safe drinking water has become a treasured commodity. The Kid (Munro Chambers) lives by himself and only goes into a nearby settlement to trade for water with the articles he finds by scavenging. One day he meets Apple (Laurence Leboeuf), a remarkably free-spirited girl, and they become scavenging buddies. When Apple is kidnapped, the Kid goes after her and stumbles across a device that gives him super powers. But even with super powers, he's up against formidable odds as he tries to rescue Apple. The final showdown against the baddies, led by the one-eyed Zeus (Michael Ironside), is truly one of filmdom's great gorefests. 

Turbo Kid was no super-low-budget studio backlot knockoff. The production values were quite good, and the acting was first rate, especially young Laurence Leboeuf as Apple, who caught me completely off guard with a surprise revelation. The driving high energy soundtrack complemented the film perfectly.

It's a fun movie to watch, and I really hope there's a sequel.
